Modelling of networks of production and logistics and analysis of their nonlinear dynamics

Present networks of production and logistics are characterised by increasing dynamical and structural complexity. Along with the nonlinear dynamics of such networks, an efficient planning and control can typically not be guaranteed and economic risks arise. As a strategy to overcome corresponding problems, we propose to apply nonlinear methods for the analysis of models of such networks, which make a holistic understanding of complex dynamic systems possible. The overall intention of our work is the derivation of strategies and methods for the management of complex distributed networks of production and logistics based on the results of these analyses.
